Commissioner Nigel Brown of the Mat-Su Seahawks Football and Cheer Organization embodies the spirit of community and dedication. With 17 years of service across various military branches, he brings a unique blend of discipline and passion to his role. Hailing from the Mat-Su Valley, Commissioner Brown's deep-rooted connection to sports led him to join the Seahawks as an Assistant Defensive Coach in 2018, eventually ascending to Director of Football Operations in February 2020 and now Commissioner in 2024. However, his impact goes beyond the field. As a former Board Member and Coach with Palmer Little League, Commissioner Brown has played a pivotal role in nurturing the local sports scene. Recognized as the 2022 Mat-Su Seahawks Volunteer of the Year, his tireless commitment is a testament to his dedication.
Supported by his loving wife Chelsey and their children Jerimiah, Anthony, and Kennedy, a young mat-su seahawk in the making, Commissioner Brown's contributions continue to shape and enrich the fabric of the Mat-Su community.
As Director of Operations, Michael Collins, is a dedicated advocate for youth sports, recognizing the invaluable skills they cultivate. With a belief in fostering a challenging and engaging atmosphere, Coach Collins emphasizes the importance of hard work and dedication for team success, adhering to the philosophy that the collective strength of the team surpasses individual contributions. As the owner of Collins Financial Group, LLC, he brings entrepreneurial expertise to his role adding a unique dimension of strategic thinking, resource management, and adaptability. Moreover, Coach Collins prioritizes community involvement and volunteerism, viewing them as essential components of a thriving society. Through his multifaceted approach, he strives to empower athletes and enrich communities alike.
We are thrilled to announce that Jessica is joining us as our new Cheerleading Director. With a rich background in cheerleading that began at the age of 4 in Michigan, Jessica brings extensive experience and enthusiasm to our program. Her journey includes participation in youth programs, middle school, and competitive high school cheer teams, as well as coaching roles with the Pop Warner Seahawks and at Fort Carson. Currently, she serves as the Head Coach for Redington’s cheerleading program.
In addition to her role with us, Jessica works with the Knik Tribe and is a devoted mom to two children, ages 10 and 14, who are active in various sports. Outside of cheerleading, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, camping, reading, horseback riding, and traveling.
We’re excited for Jessica to share her passion and knowledge with our cheerleading teams and make this season a memorable one for all our youth and families. Stay tuned for exciting updates, and join us in giving Jessica a warm welcome!
Our Director of Coaches, Brian Shive, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the Mat-Su Seahawks organization. As a former and current coach with the Seahawks, Brian is deeply passionate about youth sports in the Mat-Su community. He is actively involved as a volunteer, dedicating his time and energy to support the development of young athletes.
Brian is known for his positive attitude and infectious energy, qualities that inspire both players and fellow coaches alike. With his invaluable experience and unwavering commitment to excellence, Brian plays a vital role in shaping the future of our athletes and fostering a thriving sports culture in the Mat-Su region.

As our Team Coordinator and Parent Representative, Anastacia is an integral member of the Seahawks family since 2021, bringing valuable expertise and dedication to her role. With her two-season tenure as team manager for the Mitey Mite division, Anastacia has demonstrated a strong commitment to problem-solving and team cohesion. She believes in actively addressing challenges and has found the role of team manager to be both demanding and fulfilling.
Anastacia takes pride in witnessing the growth and development of the young athletes under her supervision, fostering a sense of camaraderie among players and parents alike. As Team Coordinator during the 2023 season and continuing into 2024, Anastacia plays a pivotal role in supporting team managers and ensuring efficient communication and organization. Her willingness to acknowledge shortcomings and dedication to providing her best for the coaches, players, and parents exemplify her professionalism and commitment to the Mat-Su Seahawks organization.
Looking ahead, Anastacia is excited about the positive changes underway and anticipates a successful 2024 season.
